As you can see with the current display of cats the background makes a difference. There are three of each design. I stack cut them. That means I placed three blank pieces of wood on top each other, a stack of three. Then I used blue masking tape to tape them all together. I then glued the pattern to be cut out on top. After this was done I then used a drill press to drill starter holes. Then I place the stacked wood on my scroll saw, thread the saw blade through the hole, tighten the blade, saw out that section, then move to the next whole until I am done. If you go back and look at the two different Border Collies you can see that there would be a large difference in the number of starter holes. The single Border Collie was easier and quicker to cut out, less holes to have to thread the blades through.
I'm trying to figure out how you get the orange background. Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteI cut out the design on the top piece of wood. There is another piece of wood the same size glued on the bottom. I can paint it any color.
ReplyDeleteI see! Very clever.
